Lifestyle & Outdoor Portraits - Documenting Your Story in the Places You Love Most
There is a definite magic to portraits captured in the places where your family feels happy and relaxed. Whether that is the cosy feeling of your own home or out in the open air chasing the sunset, these are the places where honest connections unfold.
Lifestyle shoots at home or outdoor portrait experiences are designed for families who want to let go of formality, embrace the beautiful chaos of childhood, and capture real memories in real-time. Whether we are capturing soft snuggles on your sofa or running free through the long grass, my approach is completely gentle, child-led, and full of fun.
Together, we will choose the perfect location and preserve your family’s beautiful rhythm exactly as it is today.

Regarding photoshoots
Studio location
My stunning luxury studio opened in August 2024, it’s based in central Ross on Wye (HR9 5BU). With plenty of space for the whole family to relax in and stunning high ceilings. The studio is designed to look like an upmarket apartment.
It’s a real home-from-home because when you sit back and relax, the children follow.
Usually, they’re playing with toys on the floor with a few minutes! Which makes everything work beautifully for your shoot.
Once you’re fully booked in, I’ll send detailed instructions of how to find it, best places to park as well as tips on where you may like to grab some lunch after your shoot.
I also offer outdoor shoots from April – September, we can chat through your favourite location or I can organise a private farm in Ross-on-Wye that works beautifully. For lifestyle shoots these can be taken in your own home or grounds and can work beautifully if you’ve just finished off a stunning renovation project. These are my more bespoke packages so I can tailor make it to exactly what you maybe after.
Studio props
My style of photography is very natural, I love to showcase a family without too many distractions so my blankets, outfits and simple headbands are beautiful and delicate.
I absolutely adore bringing personal elements into a session, so please bring along a favourite toy or teddy and we can utilise them for a few precious photos. Hand-made knitted items are always a highlight within a session and family members love seeing them used. So definitely think about these items and have them to hand on the day!
How do I book?
All you need to do is get in touch! Best place is to get in touch directly on my website, the more information you can give in your initial message the better, preferably your due date if pregnant and when you are around 32 weeks if you are keen to book a maternity photoshoot.
I will then pop over my full package options with lots more information on how they all work.
As soon as you are happy with your chosen package I will email over full booking details, your slot is secured with a £50 deposit. Balance is then due on the day of our shoot. I accept BACS and there’s also the option to pay by Credit card.
When will I see my photos?
Within just 72 hours of your shoot, you’ll have access to a secure online gallery for 3 days (or longer if you need it – I know life can get hectic!). You can then make your decisions on your final photos in the comfort of your own home – your partner or family members can also have their own log in, to select their favourite shots. These images are all protected with a copyright logo and if you want to view the images without a copyright logo, we can arrange a time for me to visit personally (I am unable to remove the copyright logo from the viewing gallery)
Can we bring our dog along?
Absolutely yes! I’m sure you’ve seen images on my website including fur babies and they are absolutely welcome at the studio for any of my sessions.
Digital files
Within each of my packages are a certain number of digital files, once you have selected your favourite images and placed your order. I will then work on your photos with more fine tuning airbrushing.
When they’re ready they will be sent over to you as high-resolution digital files.
Gift vouchers
Gift Vouchers are available on all photo shoot packages. It’s completely flexible – you can put any figure on a voucher, your recipient can then put it towards a package of their choice.
I also put together a beautiful gift pack at no extra cost to make your gift extra special.
What should I wear?
This is one of my most asked questions and honestly simple outfits work best, especially in terms of family shots and not too many patterns! If in doubt, have some options ready and we can see what works well in each shot on the day.
Once you’re fully booked in, I’ll email over a full style guide which is really helpful to visualise the particular aesthetic you maybe after.
I also have a great Mummy wardrobe that you can borrow any pieces from, after you’re booked in you’ll be sent a direct link of all the options. Plus there’s lots of children’s items as well.
Airbrushing
Most mummies (& some daddies) breathe a sigh of relief at the mention of airbrushing. I know how I felt in the early days with a newborn baby…tired!
I complete subtle skin smoothing for parents and can also adjust hair etc if there’s a rogue bit out of place, especially if you’ve been throwing the kids around!
With children, it’s mainly getting rid of the odd bit of dribble here, runny noses, dry skin or bumps and bruises – so nothing major.
A minimal amount gets done before you view the photos, the rest then gets completed on your final favourite images.
If you have any specific requests at all, simply describe what you’d like and I can get that done for you, this can include tattoo removal etc.
Make up
When it comes to having photos taken I know we all feel abit more life like when we’ve had the chance to put on abit of make up. I would suggest going abit stronger that you may normally wear, especially with those long nights with a newborn.
Mainly I find new mums struggle with dry lips so make sure to bring along some nice lip balm, you don’t need to go for a strong lip colour unless it’s your usual style.
Don’t panic if this goes against your usual make up – as it won’t look as strong in the final photos! Definition around your eyes is ideal and a little foundation/powder with some lip gloss works brilliantly.
We can also chat through this when we get you all booked in during your pre-shoot consultation!
Privacy
Client photographs are ONLY used on the website or social media once written consent is received. Once purchases are made, your images are deleted approximately one month after the shoot takes place. We would therefore strongly advise you download your photographs as soon as they have been activated in the download link.
Prints, albums and frames
Although the packages do not currently include any prints, albums or frames, I do offer luxury artwork options. These can be purchased any time after your shoot as you will have the digital files.
About your Lifestyle & Outdoors photoshoot
What ages are best to capture in a lifestyle session?
Lifestyle shoots can be taken with little ones at any age, if you’ve just been through a big renovation project and your house is light filled then I would totally recommend this option.
Capture your beautiful family as they are in the comfort of your own home, these are my luxury package and we can really be led by your family and their personal loves to dictate how these sessions run.
What are the best ages for an outdoor shoot?
2 years plus but can be younger if they’re outdoorsy and confident. First Birthdays I would always recommend the studio to get more of their confident personality!
Multiple siblings work so well outdoors!!
What time of year is best?
I only take on outdoor shoots from April – September, with the great British weather I need to allow for movement of dates where necessary.
What time of day can we do an outdoor shoot?
For maternity shoots I would recommend Golden hour so evening weekdays are ideal!
I offer some limited mini shoots during the summer so sign up to my newsletter to be the first to hear about these sessions, they are on limited Saturdays.
What do we do if the weather is bad?
I watch the weather like a hawk in the build up to any outdoor shoot, I’m generally in touch with you as soon as I see that the weather may not work. As I only take on a limited amount of outdoor shoots there are normally a few options for rescheduling. Or if that doesn’t work we can always head into the studio!
What’s the best way to get my family looking natural in our photos?
Games, games, games!!
Practice anything that makes your kids laugh, things that have a little build up that makes them giggle, family running races or throwing them in the air. These are by far the BEST way to get everyone relaxed and having fun!
